The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) frequently releases data on their website that is found useful to both attorneys, and the general public. The statistics highlight information as it relates to applicants and their cases, as well as policies, court decisions, and regulations that impact USCIS and applications at USCIS. Using the valuable statistics and data released by the government allows for a detailed view on the trajectory and current status that the country is moving towards. We can use DACA holders as a case study. Below you will find a collection of interesting facts collected from USCIS regarding recent DACA holder statistical reports. Looking at the recently reported DACA statistics, as of March 9th, 2022, shows some interesting information regarding the top 5 regions from the total active reported recipients of 611,470 people. The data shows the following: California: 174,680 (28.6%) Texas: 101,350 (16.6%) Illinois: 31,930 (5.2%) New York: 25,470 (4.2%) Florida: 23,600 (3.9%) The report also continues to cover many demographic breakdowns, one of which being the gender profiles which was reported, again from the 611,470 active DACA recipients, being: 328,510, (53.7%) female 282,630 (46.2%) male 320, (0.1%) not available Of the same subset of active DACA recipients, we also are made of the following age group breakdown, being: 16-20 - 21,500 (3.5%) 21-25 - 199,830 (32.7%) 26-30 - 205,690 (33.6%) 31-35 - 130,910 (21.4%) 36-39 - 53,530 (8.8%) Lastly, their marital status is reported as: Single - 434,710 (71.1%) Married - 158,830 (26.0%) Divorced - 12,420 (2.0%Widowed - 520 (0.1%) Not available - 5,000 (0.8%) The information reported, among other statistics available at USCIS, provides some great insight on what the general profile is for those active DACA recipients.
